Ki companions are in many ways a gray for me. Either they run only in the snail tempo before one, tangle to fences, race too fast or ... die. Yeah right. They die. In some video games, such as Tes: Skyrim and Pillars of Eternity, accompanying persons or heating unintentionally can bless the time. Especially in Skyrim, which I will relate here, this circumstance took me.
As long as they reappear after the mastered fight or the nearest resrawn point, as in Dragon Age or Mass Effect, I do not really care if it is not about mounting (later more).
What I'm afraid is the permanent death , and my play figures and I have already experienced. As often as my hero works in part on foot over long distances on foot, so that the beloved Gaul can not scratch off.
Dear save again ...
With the fear of losing followers or accompanying animals, a compulsive tendency to store is accompanied. Stressful, it becomes above all, when the available scores are limited and / or can not be named, which is now the case with almost all modern (console) video games.
Why that bothers me? Well, in Skyrim, for example, certain villages are constantly attacked by dragons, which do not stop at the attacks against the NPC population. In the worst case, all bystanders are at some point. Whether chicken, blacksmith or squeegee: all can die with such an attack and still go with pimping chakes, beaks or what else is available to you, dormously on the monster. And that stresses me.
Lifeless backdrops: It's not just that I do not feel like going through empty main hubs without a trade opportunity and new orders. I can quickly grow to my heart and beings quickly and I like when there is a lot of life as possible in the small towns. This includes every hen, every cow and every carnival dog. Even persons, which I can not stand at all, are protected. Nobody should die, just because such an Oller Dragon did not have a tidy breakfast.
Similarly, Skyrim behaves with the optional accompanying characters: In some of the hubs we can do orders and get us the title "Thane of ... [name of the city]". This includes that we are granted to the reward a Ki companion - the "Huscarls" - as well as the opportunity to acquire a house in the region.
The blind dedication and loyalty of the Huscarls broke me every time my character wanted to go to the next quest and wondered if it was not good, at least to carry someone to wear the equipment, almost the heart.
Dead allies or "my first time Skyrim": exactly once and with my first Skyrim passage, I took good things avertise Huscarl Lydia. We explored a ruin. Everything was good until I turned around and Lydia disappeared. Panically, I left my heroin the entire way back, before I discovered Lydia's lifeless body.
Good two hours was my last manual storage point. What a nightmare. I do not remember how I loosen the situation ultimately, but I still remember lively at the moment I found my dead companion.
No, that's not my horse!
Anyone who has previously found my versions ridiculously becomes what comes now, love: in some games, e.g. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, the ribs also arise again after their demise. A whistle is enough and already seems to be undissed from the cliff and our horse Gallops us to the side.
Depending on when exactly the death has hit this before, after the whistle, however, an indication of the screen, which tells us that our riding is currently being absit. We have to wait briefly, travel or meditate and then call it again. Then at the latest, at the latest it hurries back to egg.
is good, right? No, it's not. Not at least for me. I saw how my beloved horse died! How can the stable boy dare to tell me, I've already bought this "skin". My horse is not a skin. And what you show me here, what seems to be risen from the dead is not my horse. It is a meaning of worship, which only wants to praise me, to be my expensive companion. It is the same but not the same. So I prefer again an old score, probably out of bad conscience and irrational loyalty a generic being out.
Pure stress in Red Dead Redemption 2
If you played RDR2, you can certainly think of what comes now. Spoiler: In the game all horses are individuals. Once divorced from life, your death can only be undone by reloading. Not only for me, this knowledge is literally stressful, also Arthur Morgan difficult for the death of his animal companion in a pretty well-known game scene difficult.
In addition, there is a bonding level in RDR2, which reflects the attachment to the horse and increases values such as endurance. Much pressure to ensure all life-keeping measures, even if this does not always work for best preparation.

I love role-playing games and I love it if my protagonist * inside also have a social life next to the general choice. The more accompanying questions or people but to the heart grow or the more I feel responsible for them, the heavier it falls to me if they are injured or even killed. Of course, this column is a little overhead, but at the core, she is true: I do not like to die anyone. If it comes to it, it is loaded fast.
I am not good for you
Whether there is already in the inside, ribs or other Ki accompanying figures: mostly stripes my hero * alone through the digital game worlds, so no one dies, just because he, she or it stands to my main character.
It's almost like Batman, who stays alone to protect other against attacks that actually judge against him (at least in theory when he has not adopted a new Robin).
Not that my game characters do not want any closeness ... the opposite is the case. But having to live with it to die or injured others because of their own conflict readiness? No. Dogmeat (Fallout 4), Sreh (The Witcher 3) and Shadow Mans (Skyrim) must stay at home. Just like all Huscarls.
But "just so" nobody is left by me. In Skyrim all houses were bought or built, maximally expanded and nicely furnished, which were available to me. Each item associated with the acquisition or construction of a property was filled with competent skilled workers. Sometimes going after which persons otherwise become particularly light goals in dragon attacks or robberies and seem safer in one of the houses.
My horse got stables with fresh hay, the cows a small, fenced meadow and even if I could not officially assign this, the Huscarls got their own bedrooms. My dragon's blood looked over between the missions and laid himself on (over) life of his follower.
What does this mean? A giant!? Well, at least I attended the property until I realized that near my house with the jewelful name "Lake view" a giant drives his misuse. Freshly arrived, I found my Falkenring Huscarl Rayya in bitter fighting with the giant. Totally paralyzed, my north hero arrived, but he came too late. Together with Rayya, the giant also tore some chickens and cows in death. At least the horses survived. Nevertheless, I recently invited.
That does not happen to me again: At some point I realized that lake look will only be attacked when my North travels there. ERGO meant this for me that he rarely visited it - and then only fighting. Well, my hero may look at something lonely on her travels, but mainly survive the allies and are healthy.
From a social point of view, it would rather have to have a group, as in Grreedfall, or on the go funny talks as in Dragon Age: Inquisition lead. Ways in shorter time can be covered, would certainly be a fine thing. But what to do at that time in Tes: Morrowind has not hurt, does not harm the protagonist * inside, which came afterwards.
