Duke Nukem Begins should be a prequel and Gearbox software is created at Borderlands-makers. In 2008, a Vertical Slice trailer was commissioned to present the direction for the game. Duke Nukem Begin himself was nothing, but the trailer is there to see now. And that does not necessarily have a good aged, but rather a bit involuntarily weird. The maker behind it nevertheless hopes that the project might still be revived somehow.
Duke Nukem Begins: Prequel should tell the history of the Duke
That was planned: A bit like Batman Begins or one of the many other origin stories could have showed Duke Nukem Begins, as the Duke has become the famous-notorious game protagonist, many fans in Duke Nukem 3D And to know his various successors and often learned.
As maybe that looked, the trailer now shows the unpublished prequel game, which has not yet been published yet. In it, however, we see very little story or any elements we do not know from the other games and the Duke apparently also has all the unique selling points that characterize it.
If you want to know more about the original: In the Begins Trailer Issue 05/2021, there was a homage to the influential shooter for the 25th anniversary of Duke Nukem 3D.

From today's perspective, this trailer does not look too impressive, especially from a technical point of view. In 2008, this was still something different and the production or animation company Janimation apparently has plenty of work and heart-blood in the video, as the former director of Janimation called Gregor Punchatz told in the video description.
Also scenes like those in the stripclub are just not well aged. Even if a correspondingly sexist humor in the old parts was actually an important part of the first Duke Nukem games.
How do you find the video? Do you still have hopes in connection with Duke Nukem?
